Lessons in Your HomeWeekly LessonsThe Opus Music Institute currently offers lessons in piano, guitar, composition and music theory in the comfort of your home. We provide lessons for all ages and levels starting from 30 minutes up to a full hour for a student depending on the age, ability and desire of the student. Private lessons provide the student with all the fundamentals of a musical education such as performance techniques, music expression, sight reading skills, music theory, music history and numerous performance opportunities, not to mention personal enjoyment, increased self-esteem and discipline. Two annual recitals are offered for each student as well as other opportunities such as nursing home visits and master classes with world-class musicians. Adult students are welcomed and have the option of receiving a daytime lesson if their schedule permits.Our TeachersTeachers with the Opus Music Institute are musicians and educators that hold, are currently working towards a music degree or have had extensive experience as a performer and a private instructor. Our instructors teach year round with appropriate breaks for holidays and throughout the summer. Each student is matched with a teacher that is qualified to teach the requested subject so that each student receives the best education.School of the Arts AuditionsStudents wishing to audition for the School of the Arts (BAK or Dreyfoos) will be prepared accordingly so as to perform the best audition possible. Acceptance to these schools is VERY competitive! We cannot guarantee the student's acceptance, but CAN guarantee the proper instruction in preparing for the audition. Teachers should be notified as soon as possible if the student is interested in auditioning. Preparation for auditions usually begin at least 1 year in advance and require dedication and many hours of practice. |
